CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro: After the provincial veterinary office here confirmed African swine fever (ASF) infection in pigs, a group of hog raisers expressed their concern and warned members to be cautious of the possible spread of the virus.

In a statement on Wednesday, October 11, a copy of which was forwarded to The Manila Times, Animal Raisers of Oriental Mindoro Association (Aroma) President Nelson Mangako said that the group shares the concern of fellow hog raisers over the threat of the ASF spreading in the province and thus calls for members to implement biosecurity for all piggeries.
