The number of National Basketball Association (NBA) players that saw action in the 2023 Fédération Internationale de Basketball (Fiba) World Cup is proof that the world's most popular pro basketball league has gone global. And the biggest winners for the country's hosting of the World Cup are the Filipino basketball fans, who are one of the most passionate in the world.

The nation's love for the game has yet to be reciprocated in terms of talent level and success in the NBA.
