Spending with a mind to the midterm polls seen boosting economy

Increased spending, particularly that with a 2025 midterm elections focus, will likely boost economic growth beginning next year, economists said.

Michael Ricafort, chief economist at Rizal Commercial Banking Corp., said the Philippines would likely see growth of around 6-7 percent in 2024 – even before the campaign season starts and up from the projected 5.5-6 percent for 2023.
