'No cause for alarm in 51 areas of concern in Negros Occidental'

BACOLOD City Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson assured people of Negros Occidental that there is 'no cause for alarm' even after 51 of the 662 villages in the province were identified as 'areas of concern' in the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) by the Regional Joint Security Coordinating Center (RJSCC).

Lacson said that by declaring a barangay as an area of concern, authorities may now closely monitor the concerned village, especially during the campaign period.
