SANTIAGO CITY: The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Region 2 confiscated a total of 28 wildlife species in a mall exhibit here due to the organizers' failure to secure a wildlife special permit (WSUP) and a special local transport permit (SLTP) from the proper authorities.

A team from the Isabela provincial DENR office and the community DENR office based in San Isidro town carried out the raid on Friday, October 6, in a mall in Barangay Mabini where wildlife species including a leopard gecko, Mexican iguana, bearded dragon, sulcata tortoise, red-footed tortoise, leopard tortoise, civet cat, Burmese python and an African love bird were on display.
