After months of waiting, NBA basketball finally returns in a few weeks and tips off on October 24. This offseason had much movement with several stars donning new jerseys. There was also much drama as disgruntled players demanded trades from their team but not everyone (so far) has gotten their wish. With all these developments, here are some of the key storylines coming into the 2023-24 season:

1) Beasts of the East – The Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics are now the best teams in the NBA. Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo threatened ownership that he will look for another home if they were not on the same page and that is to build a team to win championships. Management responded by trading for seven-time All-Star Damian Lillard, arguably forming the most potent duo in the league. Not to be outdone, the Celtics acquired former Bucks Jrue Holiday thus completing a big shake-up that saw them trade Marcus Smart, Malcom Brogdon, and Robert Williams. These two teams have gone all in and are now the heavy favorites to win it all.
