The low pressure area (LPA) being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is likely to enter the country by weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Saturday.

Weather specialist Aurelio Alczar said the LPA seen 1,310 kilometers east of eastern Visayas has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression.
