GENEVA: No new cases of the Nipah virus have been detected in India since mid-September, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday, following an outbreak earlier in the month that caused two deaths.

Nipah has no vaccine and a fatality rate of between 40 percent and 75 percent.
