ZAMBOANGA CITY: Hundreds of former Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) rebels in the southern province of Basilan are undergoing government verification and profiling process as part of the MNLF Transformation Program, the military's Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) said Tuesday.
The MNLF Transformation Program is anchored on the provisions of the 1996 peace accord between the MNLF under Nur Misuari and the national government, which aims to facilitate the transition of the former rebels, especially those who were not integrated into the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police, as well as their families into peaceful and productive civilians.
