'Tech management behind PH rise in GII ranking'

THE commercialization of technologies developed by the Department of Science and Technology (DoST) through the wealth creation program is behind the country's improved rank in the 2023 Global Innovation Index (GII), Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. said Monday.

Despite being a developing country, the Philippines has managed to move up from 59th place in 2022 to 56th among 132 economies in 2023, according to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
