Guyana authorities detain 45 Venezuelan migrants

Georgetown, Guyana: At least 45 Venezuelan migrants who traveled by boat to the coast of Guyana were detained by authorities, police and military officials said Saturday.

The migrants arrived on Friday aboard a rickety fishing boat near the village of Vergenoegen, on the eastern shore of the Essequibo territory, a disputed region between Venezuela and Guyana.
