CAMP GENERAL ALEJO SANTOS, City of Malolos: In a prompt response to a concerned citizens' report, the San Rafael Municipal Police Station successfully apprehended two Chinese nationals while carrying firearms at a local eatery in Barangay Caingin, San Rafael, Bulacan on Saturday.
Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO) director Col. Relly Arnedo identified the two Chinese as Cao Jie, 35, and Jia Zi Cong, 27, both employees of Momarco Vegetable Plantation in San Rafael, Bulacan.
Around 1 p.m. when the San Rafael Police received a report from a concerned citizen, who said the two Chinese were openly carrying a short firearm while dining at a local eatery.
The police immediately acted on the report by sending patrol officers to the eatery where the two Chinese were seen.
Arnedo said the police immediately recognized the two Chinese individuals based on the description provided by the concerned citizen.
The two Chinese, sensing the approaching law enforcer in the area, tried to leave the premises hastily while conversing in Chinese.
The responding police officers proceeded to conduct a thorough search of the suspects that led to the discovery of two firearms in their possession.
Cao Jie was found to be carrying a Colt caliber .45 pistol with the serial number 793616, and a magazine loaded with six rounds of ammunition while Jia Zi Cong was found to be carrying an Armscor cal. 9mm pistol with the serial number 1360158 and a magazine loaded with nine rounds.
The arrested suspects are presently under the custody of the San Rafael MPS, while appropriate criminal complaints for violation of the Omnibus Election Code and Republic Act 10591 are now being prepared against them.
