MORE than 600 firearms have been seized by the Philippine National Police (PNP) while more than 1,000 people have been arrested since the start of the gun ban in connection with the October 30 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

PNP information chief and spokesman Col. Jean Fajardo said 1,063 were arrested and 654 firearms were seized. Most of those arrested are civilians.
