EB Magalona boxer wins WBC Asia Silver championship

BACOLOD CITY: Herlan Gomez of EB Magalona town in Negros Occidental captured a regional boxing belt after scoring a first round knockout victory against a Thai opponent at the Spaceplus Bangkok in RCA Plaza in Bangkok, Thailand on Thursday, September 28.

Gomez, who raised his ring record to 11 wins, one loss and eight knockout victories, pummeled Komgrich Nantapech (32-9, 23 KOs) of Udon Thani, Thailand with a barrage of combinations in the opening round to wrest the World Boxing Council Asia Silver bantamweight crown.
