Negros lawmakers file bill for new power firm

BACOLOD CITY: Three lawmakers from Negros Occidental filed a bill to grant a franchise to Negros Electric and Power Corp. (NEPC) in a move that could change the way electricity reaches the end-users in the cities of Bacolod, Silay, Talisay and Bago, and the municipalities of Murcia and Don Salvador Benedicto.

House Bill 9310 is sponsored by 4th District Rep. Juliet Marie de Leon Ferrer, 3rd District Rep. Francisco Benitez and Abang Lingkod party-list Rep. Joseph Stephen Paduano.
