Eala secures semis spot, assured of bronze

(UPDATE) FILIPINA tennis ace Alex Eala is heading to the semifinals of the women's singles tennis tournament of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, after defeating Japan's Kyoka Okamura in three sets during the quarterfinals on Wednesday.

Eala trailed after being swept in the first set, 0-6, then stunned Okamura by going 7-5 and 6-0 in the next two sets to clinch her ticket to the semifinals, assuring her of at least a bronze medal.
