END-times groups watching for events before the prophesied Second Coming of Jesus Christ have been abuzz since June over a vision reported by a Brazilian priest under the alias "Fr. Oliveira." The seer in Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil, was credited for predicting in 2020 that Pope Emeritus Benedict 16th would die last year, as he did on December 31.
Fr. Oliveira said through his chronicler that the Virgin Mary warned of the start in October of the "great tribulation," a seven-year period of world distress believed to be prophesied in the Book of Daniel, the Gospels, several Epistles, and the Book of Revelation (https://www.openbible.info/topics/the_great_tribulation).
