BACK in August, the Department of Energy (DoE) released a draft of proposed new rules to compel electricity distributors and consumers to prop up the gas generation sector, which is quickly expanding as the country looks to increase electricity supply while at the same time at least making an attempt to transition away from environmentally unfriendly sources such as coal and oil.
