A FARMERS group has asked Congress to investigate two Cabinet secretaries whom they accused of being behind the tariff reduction not only on rice but also on pork, chicken and corn.The Samahang Industriya ng Agrikultura or Sinag was referring to Finance Secretary Ben Diokno and Secretary Arsenio Balisacan of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).
"We all know that Secretaries Diokno and Balisacan are not only proposing tariff reduction on rice; but also on pork, chicken and corn," said Sinag chairman Rosendo So in a statement.
