'China's recent military activities abnormal'

TAIPEI: Taiwan's defense chief on Friday called China's recent military activities 'abnormal,' after a spike in incursions by Beijing's warplanes around the island this week.

China claims the self-ruling democratic island as its territory and has insisted it will retake it one day by force, if necessary.
