MUSEUMS on Philippine history in Batangas and Cavite remain closed on Saturday, according to the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP).In a notice to the public on Saturday, September 23, it said the museums were closed due to the continuing effects of smog from Taal Volcano.'Due to the continuing effects of the volcanic sulfuric dioxide emissions from the Taal Volcano and its accompanying health and safety hazard for our personnel and guests, NHCP Museums in Batangas and Cavite remain closed [on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023],' the NHCP said in a statement.On Friday, historical museums in Batangas, Cavite and even in Metro Manila, as well as the NHCP Central Office, were closed due to the smog.'The NHCP urges everyone in affected areas to wear appropriate face masks for your safety,' it said.Museums in Batangas include those of Miguel Malvar and the People's Mansion, while the museum of Emilio Aguinaldo and the Bonifacio Trial House are in Cavite.
