A ship of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) rescued two Filipino fishermen in the Spratly Islands, according to the Chinese Embassy in Manila, quoting a report from its state-run media.
In a statement on Friday, the Chinese Embassy quoted Xinhua as saying that the PLA Navy vessel "Aba" was approached by the Filipino fishermen seeking help.
