495 ex-rebels in Davao Oriental receive rice

DAVAO CITY: The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (Opapru) in Eastern Mindanao handed over sacks of rice to 495 former New People's Army (NPA) rebels in Davao Oriental.

The activity, which took place at the Provincial Capitol in Mati City on September 19, was held to celebrate the province's milestone for an insurgency-free status.
