Probe on 'cult' in Surigao sought

SEN. Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa has introduced Senate Resolution 796 directing the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs to look into the alleged presence and operation of a shabu laboratory and a heavily armed private army of extremist groups in Surigao del Norte.

Dela Rosa said that on September 7 his office received a letter containing a resolution from the mayor of the Municipality of Socorro, Province of Surigao del Norte, requesting an investigation into the alleged operation of the shabu laboratory and the presence of a heavily armed private army dubbed 'Agila,' supported by extremist groups in Southern Mindanao.
