CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro: The Oriental Mindoro 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) here ranks first in the nationwide highest in current year disbursement rates, garnering a score of 74.02 percent and besting 188 other engineering districts in the country.
District Engineer Salvador Abad, in an interview on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, with The Manila Times and the radio program "Hagupit ng Dos por Dos sa Radyo," said the award was given on July 31, 2023 and is in recognition of the overall performance of the Oriental Mindoro DEO, which implemented P1.6 billion worth of infrastructure projects composed mostly of road concreting.
