USAid exec: Skilled workforce needed for advanced manufacturing
Thomas Leblanc, the director of the Office of Education of USAid, said that the Philippines has the potential to grow its advanced manufacturing industry but is hampered by Filipinos' lack of skills and knowledge for the industry. He added that addressing the issue can increase the competitiveness of the country in attracting foreign investors.
'Advanced manufacturing has the potential to significantly contribute to the growth and developments of the Philippine economy. It can increase productivity, efficiency and competitiveness in the various industries,' he said on Monday in an online talk with the Makati Business Club (MBC).
