Public told to use national IDs

THE Philippine Statistics Authority urged Filipinos to take advantage of the benefits of being registered with the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) by using their PhilID and ePhilID to access financial services.

PSA said that as of August 25, 38,099,592 PhilIDs were delivered and 41,620,918 ePhilIDs were printed and downloaded. As such, registered persons can present sufficient and valid proof of identification in various transactions in financial institutions, such as opening basic deposit accounts (BDAs).
