Through a joint statement released on Friday, the groups said that more rice importation through tariff reduction is unwise.
Farmers' groups and other industry stakeholders, including the Samahang Industriya ng Agrikultura (Sinag), Federation of Free Farmers (FFF), Philippine Confederation of Grains Associations (Philcongrains), Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP), Pambansang Mannalon, Mag-uuma, Magbabaul, Magsasaka ng Pilipinas (P4MP) and the National Movement for Food Sovereignty (NMFS) were behind the statement.
