Canada ship here to raise Asia profile

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT: To strengthen Canada's defense engagement in the Indo-Pacific region, one of its Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) frigates made a port call here on Thursday.

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Chairman and Administrator Jonathan Tan, along with Capt. Cyrus Mendoza, commanding officer of BRP Conrado Yap of the Philippine Navy, welcomed the officers and men of HMCS Ottawa under the command of ship captain Sam Patchell.
