THE Northern Police District (NPD) on Thursday announced the arrest of a dismissed policeman who has been tagged as the leader of a syndicate involved in the alleged proliferation of loose firearms and illegal drugs in Malabon and Navotas.

BGen. Rizalito Gapas, NPD director, identified the suspect, allegedly of the Chan criminal gang, as Alexis Chan, 30, of Barangay Acacia, Malabon City. He also surrendered a.38 caliber revolver, a.22 caliber rifle, and several live bullets.
