SOME 80 Filipino students and professionals have been chosen as Japanese Government Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) scholars for 2023 and will fly to Japan within the month and in October to pursue their studies in prestigious Japanese schools and universities.

The Japan Embassy and the Philippine Association of the Japanese Government Scholars (Philajames) presented the scholars at a send-off reception at the Japanese Ambassador's residence in Forbes Park, Makati, on Saturday. They will undergo the MEXT scholarship program in six categories: teacher training, Japanese studies, undergraduate studies, research, specialized training, and college of technology.
