Perk eyed for telcos providing free Wi-Fi

THE National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) is planning to remove the spectrum users fee (SUF) for telecom companies deploying free Wi-Fi services in public places.

Under the draft memorandum circular, the NTC said that in order to expand access to fast and affordable internet services, there is a need to further reduce regulatory fees and ensure better competition and a level playing field.
