5 CAFGU members killed in clash with NPA rebels in Quezon

FIVE members of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Units (CAFGU) were killed while an Army trooper and three other CAFGU members were wounded after heavy fighting erupted between government forces and insurgents in Quezon on Friday.

Initial reports said the armed conflict occurred at Sitio Pagasa, Mapulot village in Tagkawan at about 7 a.m. as a group of New People's Army (NPA) rebels fired at patrolling government forces.
