SINCE 1957, August has been a momentous month for Malaysia as its citizens come together to commemorate their historic journey to freedom through parades, shows, performances, programs, competitions and lots of other festivities across its states.
Malaysia's Hari Merdeka (Independence Day) is also referred to as the National Day. This year's theme is "Malaysia MADANI: Tekad perpaduan penuhi harapan," which translates to "Malaysia MADANI: Determination in unity, fulfilling hope."
