The Philippine men's basketball team's bid to claim the lone Asian spot for the 2024 Paris Olympics in the 2023 FIBA World Cup hinges on its performance in the classification phase that starts Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Gilas Pilipinas will play dangerous South Sudan at 8 p.m. on Thursday and China on Saturday, September 2.
