THE manufacturing producer price index (PPI) grew by 0.1 percent in July, the Philippine Statistics Authority reported on Wednesday, showing a decrease from June's 0.8 percent and a significant slowdown compared to the 8.2 percent from the previous year.
"The deceleration in the annual growth rate of PPI in July 2023 was primarily brought about by the slowdown in the annual increase in the manufacture of food products industry division at 1.9 percent in July 2023 from 2.9 percent in June 2023," the PSA said in a statement.
