THE government should consider raising the mandated biodiesel blend to reduce the Philippines' dependence on imported fuel, a coconut industry group said on Wednesday.
"Just by increasing the blend to 5 percent, that particulate matter in air pollution goes down by 83 percent, and this is equivalent to P1.5 trillion in savings," United Coconut Associations of the Philippines (UCAP) Vice Chairman Marco Reyes said during a press conference for the ongoing 3rd World Coconut Congress.
