Nicolas Torre 3rd confirmed on Wednesday his resignation as Quezon City Police District (QCPD) chief, noting it is meant to spare the Philippine National Police (PNP) from the controversies hounding the August 27 press conference the QCPD organized for embattled ex-policeman Wilfredo Gonzales.
A video of a road incident involving Gonzales that has gone viral showed the former policeman threatening an unarmed cyclist with a handgun.
