Gilas Pilipinas' second-round aspirations suffered a major dent after falling to an aggressive Angola side, 80-70 in the main game of their 2023 FIBA World Cup group stage match on Sunday night, August 27 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Filipinos led by as many as 11 points, 28-17 on a jumper by Roger Pogoy with still over seven minutes to go in the second period.
