THE lay arm of the Philippines' Catholic bishops has sought help for victims of wildfires in the Hawaiian island of Maui, the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines said on Friday, August 25.

The Council of the Laity of the Philippines or Laiko penned an open letter to the public to support the relief efforts in Maui, where Filipinos constitute the second-largest population group.
