THE peso snapped a three-day losing streak on Friday, but the stock market again dropped below 6,200 with investors said to be awaiting news from a weekend meeting of central bankers in the United States.

The currency strengthened by 19 centavos to P56.57 against the dollar, while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) shed 65.17 points, or 1.05 percent, to close out the week at 6,160.61.
