MORE people in the Asia-Pacific region were pushed into poverty last year because of high inflation and the lingering impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) said on Thursday.

An estimated 155.2 million individuals, or 3.9 percent of the region's population, lived in extreme poverty in 2023, the Manila-based lending institution said in its "Key Indicators for Asia and the Pacific" report.
