WASHINGTON, D.C.: The United States said on Wednesday it approved the sale of advanced sensor equipment for its fighter jets to Taiwan, the latest upgrade as fears rise over China.
The US State Department said it informed Congress of the $500-million sale of F-16 Infrared Search and Track systems and related equipment to help the east Asian island "maintain a credible defensive capability."
