Negros Oriental to hold special election

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) said on Wednesday that December 2023 is the earliest possible date for the special polls to be conducted in Negros Oriental's third district following the expulsion of Arnolfo Teves Jr. from the House of Representatives.

Comelec Chairman George Garcia said the poll body would not be able to immediately hold a special election for Negros Oriental because of the upcoming Barangay (village) and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE).
