FOLLOWING the Department of Health (DoH)'s report indicating more than 80,000 cases of dengue and over 2,000 cases of leptospirosis in the country as of July 15, 2023, the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has reaffirmed its coverage for dengue and leptospirosis.

Dengue can cause flu-like symptoms that can quickly escalate into severe complications, especially among vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly. Leptospirosis is a disease transmitted through contact with contaminated water that, if left untreated, can lead to severe symptoms and potentially life-threatening complications.
