BARRING any weather or sea conditions, Japan will release treated radioactive water from the tsunami-hit Fukushima nuclear plant into the Pacific Ocean on Thursday, August 24.
On March 11, 2011, a tsunami triggered by a magnitude 9.0 earthquake smashed into the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, destroying its power and cooling systems and triggering meltdowns at three reactors.
