THE BMW Group has officially launched its cutting-edge test site, the Future Mobility Development Center (FMDC), in Sokolov, Czechia. With a total investment of 300 million euros, the FMDC marks a milestone for the company's future mobility development efforts and its commitment to automated driving and parking technology.
The FMDC is the first of its kind in central Europe, designed exclusively for the rigorous testing of fully automated driving and parking up to Level 4. Covering an expansive 600 hectares of land, the center provides ideal real-world conditions to complement virtual simulation testing of driving situations. By combining virtual and physical testing, BMW meets the highest safety standards, ensuring the utmost reliability and customer-oriented approach.
