LAHAINA, Hawaii: Hawaii Gov. Josh Green said on Friday that people would determine what would be rebuilt from the ashes of the devastating wildfires on the island of Maui.
"Lahaina will rise again," Green said during a livestreamed evening address from the state capital Honolulu. The historic seaside town, he added, will be rebuilt as a living memorial to those lost — a number that increased by three to 114 on Friday — while preserving and protecting Native Hawaiian culture.
