(UPDATE) THE Light Rail Transit (LRT) 1 Roosevelt Station in Quezon City will be called Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ) Station beginning today, Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, by virtue of Republic Act (RA) 11608, mandating the station be renamed after the late Filipino actor.
FPJ, who was born on Aug. 20, 1939 and died on Dec. 14, 2004, was an actor, film director, producer, screenwriter and politician. He once lived along Roosevelt Avenue.
