Ex-DepEd chief supports reduced K-10 curriculum

FORMER Education secretary Leonor Briones is in full support of the recalibrated K to 10 curriculum, called 'Matatag,' which has been decongested to focus on foundational skills.

She said Matatag, launched on August 11 in Pasay City and with phased implementation to start in School Year 2024-2025, features a reduced number of learning competencies, updated 21st century skills, and a focus on foundational skills such as literacy, numeracy and socio-emotional skills.
